Nick Clegg's speech embodied all that was wrong with the Lib Dem conference
It was the dullest one I have attended in more than 20 years. And in his biggest speech of the year the only policy announcement that Mr Clegg could deliver was summer schools for rioters in yet another Lib Dem sop to the criminal fraternity.
